That Creative Space started with a simple mission: to create more affordable studio options for artists being priced out of the Beacon area — and to build a place where anyone, regardless of background or experience level, can feel like they belong.
This isn’t about exclusivity — it’s about nurturing a space together.
Studio Use & Membership Options
That Creative Space is a shared, community-centered studio designed for artists and creatives who value working alongside others in a respectful, supportive environment.
At this time, the studio primarily supports visual 2D practices and small-scale, low-impact work, including drawing, painting, collage, fiber arts, digital work, writing, and other small-format making. While we have dreams of expanding to support a wider range of practices in the future, the studio does not currently offer private studios, woodshop or metalworking facilities, or space for large-scale or industrial processes.
Dedicated Studio (Waitlist Only)
Best for artists who need consistent, independent studio space.
$250/month
Dedicated Studio membership offers artists a stable place to work within a shared, community-centered environment. This option is designed for artists whose practice benefits from regular access and personal storage while still working alongside others.
Includes:
Dedicated workspace and personal storage
Access 7 days/week, 9 AM – 11 PM
Participation in the studio community
Priority consideration for exhibitions and programs
Part-Time Flexible Studio Use
Best for artists seeking part-time space.
$150/month
Flexible Studio Use is designed for artists balancing work that are seeking a space outside of their home to get work done.
Includes:
Shared workspace and storage
Access when when there aren’t workshops/classes scheduled
Includes Community Membership
Studio access is application-based to ensure a good fit for shared use.
This membership can be purchased as pay-as-you-go but that level doesn’t include “community membership”.
Program & Facilitation Studio Use
Best For Educators, facilitators, and practitioners who want to regularly host their own classes, programs, rehearsals, or small group sessions that is self administered.
$250/month | Application-Based
This studio use option is designed for individuals and organizations who wish to run recurring programs or rehearsals in the studio as part of the That Creative Space community
Includes:
Priority access to studio booking over one-off rentals
Monthly studio use for hosting your own classes, workshops, rehearsals, or programs
Coverage under That Creative Space’s general liability insurance
Use of shared studio furnishings and amenities during booked times
Listing as a program partner or facilitator (as applicable)
Our studio is comprised of two rooms, our open studio is available for rent by the hour.
This space is about 500 SF, and can accommodate 12-18 people at work tables comfortably. Studio has access to a mini fridge, microwave and bathrooms.
Friends of the studio
Friends can make a one-time donation to help support free community events and scholarship spots for workshops and programs at That Creative Space.
As a thank you:
Friends will be listed (with permission) in an annual impact email
Donations of $100 or more include your choice of a That Creative Space tote bag, t-shirt, or mug
Every contribution helps keep the studio accessible, welcoming, and rooted in community
Community Membership
Best for anyone seeking connection.
$35/month
Our community membership is perfect for anyone new or old to town, seeking connection with likeminded people in fun, low-key-and social way.
Includes:
15% off workshops/classes
Invitations to community gatherings (makers market, field trips, potlocks etc.
Propose and host a montly community event
Early access or discounts on select workshops and programs
