Why make something together?
There's a moment that happens at almost every event in our studio. About twenty minutes in, the room gets a little quieter. Phones go face down. People who just met are passing the glue sticks and asking, "Wait, how did you do that?"
That's the magic of a creative party. When your hands are busy, conversation comes easier. Nobody has to perform or make small talk, because there's always something to look at, laugh about or help with. And at the end, everyone goes home with something they made, plus a story about how they made it.
Whether you're gathering friends, family or coworkers, making something side by side is one of the simplest ways to actually connect. No experience needed. We set everything up, guide you through it and clean up after, so you can focus on your people.
So, what kind of art party are you?
Find your party
Every group is different, and so is every celebration. Here are a few of the occasions we host most often, with projects our guests love. Mix and match, or ask us to design something just for you.
Kids' birthdays (ages 8+)
Give young makers a project they'll be proud to show off. Kids can build a Tiny Bot or make-a-creature, light up a Flower LED Light, or design their own stamps. Collage and junk journaling are great for kids who love scraps, stickers and storytelling.
Try: Tiny Bots, Flower LED Light, Stamp Making (ages 10+), Junk Journaling
Bachelorette, bachelor and pre-wedding parties
Kick off the celebration with a project everyone takes home as a keepsake, then head out to explore Beacon. Embroider matching tees for the weekend, paint candles for the big day, or try Needle Felting Stab & Sip.
Try: Embroidery on tanks or tees, Painted Candles, Needle Felting Stab & Sip, Dried Flower Collage
Baby showers, bridal showers and wedding showers
A creative shower gives every guest something to do, not just watch. Guests can embroider onesies for a new arrival, or make decoupage trinket dishes and dried flower collages that double as favors and keepsakes.
Try: Embroidered Onesies, Decoupage Trinket Dishes, Dried Flower Collage
Milestone birthdays
Whether it's a 21st, a 50th or a 90th, a milestone deserves more than another dinner reservation. Gather your favorite people for a paint party, block print your own clothing, or turn vintage buttons into jewelry.
Try: Paint Party, Block Printing on Clothing, Upcycling Buttons into Jewelry, Collage Portraits
Retirements, promotions and career milestones
Celebrate a big career moment with a party that brings colleagues, friends and family together to reminisce and create. Collaged notebooks and seasonal landscape paintings make meaningful mementos of the moment.
Try: Collaged Notebooks, Seasonal Landscape Painting, Decoupage Lanterns
Work teams and organizations
Team building doesn't have to mean trust falls. A creative workshop gets coworkers talking, laughing and solving problems in a new way. Choose a collaborative art project, a values and mission workshop, or a custom experience. We host at the studio or come to your office, retreat or event.
Try: The Importance of Play or Cut, Paste & Play: A Creative Collage Experience
Friends, family and just because
You don't need a milestone to gather. Family reunions, friend group catch-ups, date nights and "we finally found a weekend that works" are all great reasons to make something together.
Try: Any project on our menu, or a custom idea of your own
Our party menu (and why it will keep changing)
We put together a party menu of our most popular projects to make planning easy. Think of it as a starting point, not the final word.
We plan to refresh the menu with the seasons, so you might see botanical projects in spring, lanterns in fall and cozy gifts in winter. We'll also keep shaping it based on what our party guests love most. Have an idea that's not on the list? Ask us. Many of our workshops can become private parties, and we're happy to create a custom project for your group.
Party packages start at $450 for up to 6 participants, with additional guests starting at $45 per person. Final pricing depends on the creative project selected and group size. Our studio in the Beacon Music Factory can host up to 20 guests, with parking on-site. We're on the ground floor with a chair lift available, and we're happy to adapt projects so everyone in your group can take part.
Why people love us
Don't just take our word for it. We're proud to have a 5-star rating on Google. Here's what party and workshop guests have shared:
"We were so lucky that Stacey was able to give my 10 year old daughter a birthday workshop! From the start, seeing a welcome birthday sign, we felt excited and inspired! My daughter and her two friends did beautiful creations all with the patient and helpful guidance of Stacey! Thanks to her my daughter was able to have a wonderful and enjoyable memory along with her friends on such a special day!"
Idalia M., kids' birthday party
"We went to Beacon for a girls weekend / bachelorette and came across That Creative Space as we wanted a fun activity to do. My friends and I had the best time making botanical collages with Stacey! She was incredibly thoughtful, patient, and knowledgeable. She made the experience so special and catered. We would come back and recommend the experience to others wanting a creative activity during their visit to Beacon :)"
Michele, bachelorette weekend
"I'm so excited to have a place like this in Beacon that is inviting to folks of all artistic experience levels."
Dana F., workshop guest
"The studio is beautiful and well-organized, and Stacey obviously cares a lot about the space, and about creating an artistic community in Beacon."
