Creative Things To Do in Beacon, NY This Summer

Art Workshops, Creative Experiences & Hands-On Classes in the Hudson Valley

Did you tell yourself in January that this was going to be your most creative year?

And then February happened. And March. And suddenly it's summer and the sketchbook is still empty and the class you meant to sign up for is still sitting in a browser tab somewhere.

You're not alone. Life has a way of crowding out the things we actually want to do.

But here's the thing about summer. It has a different energy. Longer days. A little more permission to slow down. A little more space to finally do the thing you keep putting off.

Looking for creative things to do in Beacon, NY this summer? Whether you're visiting the Hudson Valley for a weekend getaway, searching for beginner-friendly art workshops, or simply looking for a relaxing creative activity, That Creative Space offers hands-on workshops and creative experiences for adults, teens, and families — no experience needed.

Everything we program is built with intention: a guided hand, a few hours to lose yourself in something, and the chance to try something new without feeling like you have to already know what you're doing.

This summer we built a schedule full of chances to finally do it. Here are a few ways in.

Beginner-Friendly Art Workshops in Beacon, NY

Try Something You've Never Tried Before

Shibori. Cyanotype. Stained glass. Natural dyeing. These are heritage crafts with deep roots — hands-on, process-focused, and the kind of thing you make with your body as much as your hands. Beginner-friendly. All materials included.

Watercolor Workshops in the Hudson Valley

Watercolor has been the most requested thing since we opened. This summer we added more sessions across morning, afternoon, and evening so the timing finally works for you. Fresh florals, sunflowers, farmer's market produce. Come once or come back.

Creative Night Out Workshops in Beacon

Stab and Sip is our new needle felting evening — BYOB, snacks, good company, and something handmade to take home. We're also launching seasonal community swaps, creative gatherings built around making and meeting people. These nights are designed to feel less like class and more like a really good evening out.

Relaxing Creative Workshops for Adults

Intuitive Collage. Intuitive Painting. Kawandi quilting. These are workshops for the person who needs a few hours to breathe, make something without pressure, and remember what it feels like to be fully present. No experience needed. No perfection expected.

Family-Friendly Creative Workshops in Beacon

Get the family off their screens and into the studio. Under the Sea, Fabric Scrap Monster Plushies, and Intro to Cyanotype are all designed for kids and adults to create side by side. Because some of the best things you can make together are memories.
